The exhibition with the title "8 Fashion Manifestos" presented projects from Master, Fashion Design students from Trier University of Applied Sciences (2020.) The 8 students researched sustainability in the fashion industry and came up with diverse approaches of implementation. Each student prepared a manifesto in which they explained what they would like to change in the industry and what their utopia toward a sustainable fashion industry would look like. This was a showcase of different angles of 8 projects; from installations of how fashion easily becomes waste to repair workshops, to talks and debates on sustainability in fashion. This cosy event equipped the guests with a better understanding of how the fashion industry is characterised by migration, diminishing human resources, modern slavery, and massive waste production. The goal was to engage with our immediate community and simultaneously share our research findings.
